The state of Kentucky and our nation has been mourning the tragedy that struck Marshall County High School on Tuesday morning. A school shooting resulted in the death of two students and 17 others were injured in a heartbreaking scene in the small town of Benton, Kentucky.
The nation has shown love and support for Marshall County all week and so has the Big Blue Nation. Prior to Tuesday nights win vs. Mississippi State, a moment of silence was held at Rupp Arena and today, John Calipari tweeted out a picture of his team wearing bracelets that say, “Marshall County Strong” The bracelets are blue and orange, the school’s colors.
Tragedies have a way of bringing everyone together and it’s moments like this that make me proud to be a Kentuckian. Please continue to pray for Marshall County and the families of the students taken in a day this state will never forget.
