The Wife of Iconic UK Radio Announcer Passed Away on Sunday
Frances Ledford, the widow of Cawood Ledford, passed away Sunday night in Harlan. She was 90 years old.
Frances Ledford was born and raised in Lynch, Ky. According to the Herald-Leader, she met Cawood when they both worked at Clear Channel Radio in Louisville.
Cawood was the voice of Wildcat football and basketball from 1953 until his retirement in 1992. He passed away in 2001.
Ledford’s funeral service is tentatively scheduled for Thursday in Harlan. Time and location will be updated later. No details were available at the time.
