Wenyen Gabriel Remained Positive when Things didn’t Look Good

After the Wildcats lost to Missouri in early February, Wenyen Gabriel remained positive on social media. I’m not sure many believed him but after Saturday’s dominating performance in the SEC semifinals vs. Alabama, Gabriel was right.

Kentucky had just lost at Missouri in one of the worst offensive performances of the John Calipari era and it was the first of four consecutive losses for the Wildcats. Fast forward a month later and this is a completely different team, one that is playing with confidence and hitting their stride at just the right time.

Gabriel tweeted out the following, which made it’s rounds throughout the Big Blue Nation.

Gabriel was all smiles following his record breaking performance on Saturday. The sophomore forward scored 23 points and knocked down a UK SEC tournament record seven three pointers.

This team might not win a national championship in four weeks but I know this, they’re much better than they were a month ago. That alone gives them a chance.
