John Calipari joined Rece Davis and Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter Thursday evening to discuss the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
The UK coach discussed how he enjoyed coaching this team and how much he is going to miss them, as well as the decision the NCAA made to cancel all winter and spring NCAA championships.
“Hard for the players having it yanked from them like this, but it wasn’t anyone’s fault,” said Calipari. “It had to be done.. Had a chance to be one of my favorite teams I’ve coached here, but they didn’t get that opportunity. Hard thing to swallow.”
“I’m really gonna miss this team,” Calipari said. “I think we could have won the national title. They deserved to keep playing, but you know what, stuff happens.”
