Kentucky junior guard Maci Morris became the 33rd player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points for her career during a 65-48 victory vs. the Auburn Tigers on Thursday.

Morris entered the game four points shy of the 1,000 point mark and it didn’t take her long to put her name among the best in program history. Morris scored the first six points of the game for the Wildcats, both three-pointers. Her second one put her over the mark.

Morris led the Wildcats with 18 points on Thursday, behind a season-high five three-pointers. On the season, Morris leads the Wildcats, who have won three straight games, with 15.5 points per game. She ranks 5th nationally and 2nd in the SEC in three-point percentage with a 46.2 percent clip.

For her career, Morris now has 1,014 points and if she remains healthy, she will have a chance to climb high on UK’s all-time scoring list.
