Video: Clay Travis Calls Kentucky Fans Some of the Dumbest People in America

If you have ever heard the name Clay Travis it’s probably not because of something positive. Travis, the host of Outkick the Coverage on Fox Sports Radio, had some strong comments about Kentucky fans and John Calipari on his Monday show. You might remember Travis from his awkward CNN interview with Brooke Baldwin last summer, where his inappropriate comments became a national story.

On his Monday show, Travis said said, “Some of the dumbest fans in the world are Kentucky Wildcat fans.” Travis adds that fans are kidding themselves if they think that John Calipari wasn’t doing the same thing that Sean Miller, Rick Pitino, and Bruce Pearl were doing. Travis went on to add that Calipari is dirty and that if fans believe he’s not, they are biased and dumb.

I have met a lot of people in my first year of sports media but thankfully, Travis isn’t one of them. I actually dread the day that I do finally meet him because I’m sure it’s coming soon, especially with how often I cover Kentucky sporting events on the road.

Travis went on to add that John Calipari is dirty and that if fans believe he’s not, they are biased and dumb. Speaking of dirty, you can listen to the garbage below.

Till this point, most mornings I would listen to your show on my way to work. However I now put you in the class with Eminem. I enjoyed his music till he comes out and says either agree with him politically or F—k off . I destroyed and disposed of his music. And I turn any channel that has him on it. I will do the same with you. There is a lot of ways to express opinions or ideas without calling any Kentucky fan that does not believe Coach Cal is as dirty as Pitino the biggest idiot in the world all while standing on a stage that allows no rebuttal. Your good at your job. This is proof your not great. To have an open debate or to state an opinion is one thing but for me the style you used and the stage you used I realize your not a person I care to tune in a listen anymore

Just another hater wanting BBN to make him better known. I’m a grandmother, well educated, and have been a KY fan for over 40 yrs. I’m neither naive, or dumb. Dumb is someone who doesn’t have good judgement, and has opinions based on generalities without any facts. This quack fits it perfectly. I would say that any so-called host/announcer/character, (or whatever he calls himself) that demeans any fan based on HIS biased opinion is just plain dumb.

Just trying to keep his name out there. He needs to take a lesson from other RESPECTED COLLEAGUES. Just a trash-talker.

Let me get my mind right. Pitino was squeaky clean at Kentucky and turned into a lying cheater at Louisville. The only coach in NCAA history to have two final four appearances removed from the record books (UMASS and Memphis State) was a lying cheater at those schools but became squeaky when he came to Kentucky.
If you believe that, you probably believe the Fed Ex envolope that fell apart in the LA airport didn’t have any money in it.

It amazes me today to see the low level of talent and skill that so many have when it comes to “claimed” sports knowledge & commentary. Clay Travis is such an individual. On the other hand, there have always been those individuals in society that base their entire worth and social value on being an antagonist. Those with similar dispositions align with them, for the comfort in knowing they are not the only humans that view society in hostile and antipathetic terms. They especially become adverse when they encounter supremacy at the levels of Kentucky Basketball and coaches like John Calipari. And unfortunately, that is at the heart of this young man’s value to society, his emotional issues and not any level of credible knowledge.
