USA Today Updates Kentucky’s NCAA Tournament Projection

You had to figure that two straight and convincing wins would elevate Kentucky’s NCAA tournament projections and they did just that.

While Joe Lunardi will update his tournament seeding sometime on Thursday, USA Today updated theirs earlier this morning, moving Kentucky to a No. 5 seed in the East Region. That is good and all but the Wildcats would spend the first weekend of the tournament in San Diego, rather than the short drive to Nashville.

If Kentucky were to win the final three regular-season games and sweep their way to the SEC Tournament title, it will be interesting to see how far they will move up the list. The way teams are losing; it wouldn’t be surprising to see Kentucky climb to a No. 3. Regardless, let’s just hope it’s not San Diego, Boise, or Dallas. Nashville, Detroit, Charlotte, and Pittsburgh would be much better and closer to the BBN.
