UPDATE: Dorian Baker will miss “significant time”

Senior Dorian Baker went down with an injury during the Wildcats second scrimmage of the fall on Saturday. Mark Stoops described the injury as “substantial” and announced that more detail would be provided later in the week.

That news has now been announced, as UK reports that Baker suffered a fracture-dislocation in his left ankle, which will force him to miss “significant time” and possibly the entire 2017 season.

“We’re very disappointed for Dorian, as he had a good offseason and was helping lead our receivers during preseason camp,” said Stoops. “However, we are hopeful for a full recovery and look forward to his eventual return to the field.”

Baker has never redshirted during his time with the Wildcats, so the option to return in 2018 is there if he does not play this fall.

The senior wide receiver is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow. Surgery will be performed by Dr. Darren Johnson at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
