UK announces 2017 Hall of Fame class headlined by John Wall and Randall Cobb

The University of Kentucky announced a big list of former Wildcats that will be inducted for the 2017 UK Hall of Fame class, including headline names John Wall and Randall Cobb.

John Wall

Wall was a first team All-American in 2010 on his way to being the first No. 1 pick on program history. Wall was also named the SEC Player of the Year after averaging 16.6 points and 6.5 assists per game during his one season in Lexington. Wall has spent the first seven years of his career with the Washington Wizards, being named an All-Star in four of those seasons.

Randall Cobb

Cobb was a once in a lifetime player during his three seasons with the Wildcats. Cobb started games at both wide receiver and quarterback, while returning kicks and punts. Cobb is remembered for so many plays that made Kentucky fans just shake their head. Cobb made one handed catches, turned sacks into long runs, and electrified Commonwealth Stadium every time he fielded a punt or kickoff. During the 2010 season, Cobb broke the SEC single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,396. Cobb was a second round selection by the Green Bay Packers, where he has spent the first six years of his career.

Other inductees include San Diego Padres outfielder Collin Cowgill, broadcaster Ralph Hacker, Sherry Hoover Bordner (cross country, outdoor/indoor track), and Sarah Rumely (volleyball).

Hall of Fame weekend is scheduled for September 22-23, which is the same weekend as the Florida game. The stadium will be electric and lets hope the Cats can end the 30 game losing streak to the Gators.
