The 2019-2020 Kentucky men’s basketball team arrived on campus in early June and they’re already putting in the work to be another special group of Wildcats for John Calipari.
Like most of Calipari’s Kentucky teams, including the 2012 national championship team, this group of Wildcats have already started the “Breakfast Club”, which are early morning workouts to start the day.
If you follow the players on Instagram you may have noticed them in the weight room and gym as early as 6:00 a.m. almost every day. Kahlil Whitney mentioned the Breakfast Club in a recent interview and that Tyrese Maxey is the player that started it.
The @KentuckyMBB freshmen have a single goal for the upcoming season, says @KahlilWhitney. They want to win a national championship. And they’re already chasing after it.

If Whitney’s comment and Instagram stories aren’t enough, John Calipari mentioned on Thursday’s SEC Summer Teleconference that Maxey is leading guys to the Joe Craft Center for early morning workouts.
To get where we want to go, it’s going to take every ounce of effort we’ve got in the tank.
