Tyrese Maxey Led Team USA to a Win vs. the Dominican Republic

Team USA had no trouble with the Dominican Republic in their opening game of the FIBA Americas U18 Championships on Sunday, winning by a score of 105-73.

Team USA was led by 2019 UK commit Tyrese Maxey, who committed to the Wildcats in May. The 6-foot-3 guard scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds to go along with 3 assists and three steals. While Maxey was on the floor, the United States outscored their opponent by 42 points.

Maxey is the only UK commit on the roster but UK target Matthew Hurt also made the team. Hurt finished with 12 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Kentucky assistant coach Tony Barbee was in attendance to watch the game.
