Tyler Herro Already Knows what Practices will be Like at Kentucky

Yesterday was NBA Draft decision day for PJ Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Wenyen Gabriel. The trio announced their decisions on Wednesday evening and Washington is the only one returning to Kentucky next season.

The 6-foot-7 forward was the only one of the three to go through the NBA combine and the draft process. Vanderbilt wasn’t physically able to participate and Gabriel didn’t receive an invite. However, they all met with teams while Washington and Gabriel did individual workouts.

Washington’s return to Kentucky’s already loaded frontcourt is huge news for the 2018-2019 team. Along with Nick Richards, E.J. Montgomery, and possibly Stanford transfer Reid Travis; John Calipari will have plenty of options now that Washington is in the mix.

Calipari is excited to coach Washington another year and he said on Twitter that he’s excited to chase something special next season. Not only is Calipari and the Big Blue Nation excited, but so is incoming freshman Tyler Herro.

Herro, a 2018 UK signee, couldn’t believe the news that Washington is going to be his teammate at Kentucky. He tweeted his excitement about the decision.

Washington and Herro will both be on campus June 2nd for the first day of summer workouts. Herro also tweeted about how intense practices will be next season with so much talent on the roster.
