Tyler Herro Shows he is More than Just a Shooter

One key to a more successful season for Kentucky in 2018-19 is to make outside shots at a higher rate than last season.

Redshirt freshman guard Jemarl Baker and freshman guard Tyler Herro should provide Kentucky with two solid perimeter threats, along with the return of sophomore Quade Green.

Baker is an unknown and he hasn’t played competitively since injuring his knee prior to Big Blue Madness last season. Herro, on the other hand, has provided plenty of highlights for the Big Blue Nation to be excited about.

During practice on Tuesday, John Calipari was challenging his guys to be more aggressive attacking the basket. Herro decided to show everyone that he is more than a jump shooter, as he exploded for a dunk during a transition drill.

Herro is taller and longer than most fans think. Standing at 6-foot-7, Herro has the length to shoot the ball over the outstretched arm of defenders and it allows him to finish near the rim. See the video below for an example.
