Tony Barnhart Picks Kentucky to Finish 5th in the SEC East: Georgia and South Carolina at the Top

Fourteen Saturday’s remain until the kickoff of the 2018 college football season.

“Experts” are making their predictions for the order of finish in the SEC East. Tony Barnhart, a broadcaster for the SEC Network and columnist for TMG College Sports, is the latest to offer his projections.

Barnhart has Kentucky finishing fifth in the East with a conference record of 2-6, just ahead of Missouri (6th) and Vanderbilt (7th). That would be a significant step back from consecutive 4-4 finishes the last two seasons. Ahead of Kentucky, Barnhart lists Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.

He has Kentucky defeating Vanderbilt and Missouri at home for their two SEC wins. He does add that Kentucky has two winnable games vs. Mississippi State and South Carolina at home.

Barnhart has been around the SEC for a long time, but I’m not sure many people will agree with his list. In fact, he referred to UK quarterback Terry Wilson as Terry Miller in the article.
