LEXINGTON, Ky- The 17th ranked Kentucky Wildcats moved to 5-0 on the season with a 24-10 victory vs. South Carolina at Kroger Field on Saturday, the fifth consecutive win vs. the Gamecocks.

Defense led the way once again for the Wildcats, giving up one touchdown on a misread in coverage by senior cornerback Lonnie Johnson. The touchdown was the first the Wildcats had given up in the 3rd quarter this season.

While the defense did its part, the Kentucky offense scored all 24 Wildcat points in the first half. Sophomore quarterback Terry Wilson completed 13-of-20 passes for 132 yards to improve his record to 5-0 as the starter, tying Bill Ransdell (1984) for the best record to start a UK career as a starting quarterback.

Additionally, Wilson added 59 rushing yards and one touchdown to lead the 17th ranked Wildcats to its third SEC victory in three tries. The win keeps Kentucky on pace with Georgia (3-0) atop the SEC East standings.

The Wildcats will take their perfect 5-0 record to College Station next Saturday for a matchup with Texas A&M.
