Take a look back to the last time Kentucky defeated Florida

Image from the Gator Network

November 15, 1986, was the last time Kentucky walked off the gridiron victorious vs. Florida. Jerry Claiborne was the Wildcats head coach and Bill Ransdell was the quarterback. With the victory, Kentucky was able to avoid a losing season, finishing with a record of 5-5-1.

The matchup took place later in the season than its now usual warm September date. The weather was cold and misty rain was following at Commonwealth Stadium. The Wildcats used a balanced attack, as running back Mark Higgs carried the ball 27 times for 95 yards, while Ransdell completed 20-of-23 passes. Kentucky outgained the Gators 308-241.

The Wildcats held possession for over 41 minutes, keeping the Florida offense off the field. The game was low scoring with Kentucky winning, 10-3.
