Tai Wynyard will Continue his College Career at Santa Clara
Former Kentucky basketball player Tai Wynyard announces he is transferring to Santa Clara. He posted the announcement to his Instagram account.
Wynyard decided to transfer from Kentucky after two and a half seasons in Lexington. Wynyard arrived at Kentucky as a midyear enrollee in December 2015 and redshirted during the second half of the season. He played sparingly at Kentucky, seeing action in 23 career games.
The New Zealand native spent most of his sophomore season away from the floor. He suffered a back injury that kept him out of action and then was later suspended for an off the court incident.
During his time at Kentucky, he scored 19 points and grabbed 27 rebounds in 97 minutes of action. His best performance of his career came against Monmouth, where he scored four points and grabbed six rebounds in a career high 12 minutes. Additionally, Wynyard was an All-Southeastern Conference Honor Roll member.
