Shareef O’Neal “Trying to Become Academically Eligible” at UCLA
Shareef O’Neal received interest from Kentucky during his recruitment, but never an offer.
It’s a good thing John Calipari never extended an offer because he may not qualify academically at UCLA. Tracy Pierson of BruinReportOnline says O’Neal is, “trying to become academically eligible.”
The 6-foot-9 O’Neal originally committed to Arizona, but changed his mind when Arizona coach Sean Miller’s name came up in the FBI investigation going on in college basketball. He didn’t waste much time flipping his commitment to UCLA.
Calipari showed interest in O’Neal and his father, Shaquille O’Neal, had high praise for Calipari during his son’s recruitment.
