Scott Padgett’s Son Wants to Play Football at Kentucky

Scott Padgett

Scott Padgett is one of the most beloved players to play basketball at the University of Kentucky.

The former Kentucky Wildcat hit clutch shots during Kentucky’s 1998 NCAA title run, including the game-winning three-pointer vs. Duke in the 1998 Elite Eight that gave the Wildcats the lead for good. Padgett’s wife, Cynthia Dozier, was a member of the Kentucky volleyball team during her time at UK.

While Scott’s UK legacy is basketball and Cynthia’s in volleyball, their son is a 6-foot-4, 285-pound football player at Homewood High School in Alabama with dreams of playing at Kentucky.

Mark Story of the Lexington Herald-Leader published a column Thursday that says Lucas Padgett wants an opportunity to play football for the Wildcats.

“It’s his dream school to come to Kentucky,” Scott Padgett told the Herald-Leader.

According to the story, Padgett is receiving interest from Conference USA schools but nothing from the SEC right now.
