Saturday, November 3, 2012 was one of the darkest, if not the darkest, days in Kentucky football history.
On that day, Kentucky lost to Vanderbilt 40-0 at Commonwealth Stadium. Following that loss, Mitch Barnhart decided it was best to fire head coach Joker Phillips and move in a different direction.
The announced attendance for that game on November 3, 2012 was 44,902, but the actual number of people in the seats didn’t come close to that total.
Fast forward six years later to the day and Kentucky is playing for a trip to Atlanta. Yes, Kentucky can win the SEC East on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Mark Stoops has resurrected a program from the pits of hell and has it on the cusp of claiming something we all never thought possible.
@KySportsRadio you do realize that this Saturday will be the 6th year anniversary of the 2012 Vandy game, what a turnaround to be playing for a trip to Atlanta on the line! #Wow pic.twitter.com/4UzrrxFn13
