After being named runner-up last season, Kentucky women’s basketball signee Rhyne Howard has been named 2018 AAA Miss Basketball in the state of Tennessee.
Howard has led her Bradley Central team to a state tournament appearance and she did so in dominating fashion. The combo guard scored 41 points on 16-of-25 shooting to lead Bradley Central to a win in the District 5-AAA championship and she scored 32 points on 14-of-17 shooting, including six steals, five assists, four rebounds, and two blocks in the Region 1-AAA quarterfinal. Howards 27 points and 15 rebounds helped the Bears clinch the sectional championship.
Howard is ranked the No. 8 prospect in the 2018 class according to All-Star Gils Report. On the season, she is averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.4 steals, and 4.1 assists per game. She has scored a total of 721 points to lead Bradley Central to a perfect 32-0 record.
Howard and fellow UK signee Blair Green were named Naismith High School All-America Honorable Mention honorees on Monday.
