Positive Report on Ashton Hagans Playing vs Georgia

There was some positive news late Monday night about the expected status of Kentucky sophomore guard Ashton Hagans.

According to Seth Davis of CBS Sports, he is hearing Hagans will play when the 14th ranked Wildcats take on Georgia Tuesday night in Athens.

The UK point guard suffered a lower left ankle sprain in a 71-59 win vs. Missouri.

On Monday, assistant coach Joel Justus said Hagans was day-to-day.

“I think it’s day-to-day,” said Justus. “You know, we had a very cerebral day yesterday after the game that we played Saturday. We came back yesterday, watched film like we always do and had some more of a scripted walkthrough day. We’ll see where he is today, but I think for us, it’s day-to-day.”

If he’s able, Hagans will most certainly give it a go, considering he grew up 100 miles from Athens in Cartersville, Georgia.

Hagans put on a show in his previous trip to Athens, scoring 23 points to go with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and four steals in the Wildcats 63-49 win last season.

On the season, Hagans is averaging 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Kentucky and Georgia are scheduled to tip-off at 9 p.m. ET. on ESPN.
