Did you See the Play Ashton Hagans Made after Tyrese Maxey’s Shot?

By now, you’ve probably watched the Tyrese Maxey three-pointer to clinch Kentucky’s win vs. Michigan State a thousand times.

With the shot clock ticking down, Maxey drained a deep three to give Kentucky a 65-60 lead with 59.9 seconds to play.

Maxey’s shot was huge but Ashton Hagans deserves praise for the play he made immediately after the shot went though the net. The UK point guard immediately jumps the Michigan State guard and doesn’t allow the ball to be thrown inbounds.

The play forces Michigan State to use their final timeout with 59.9 seconds to play, a huge play that doesn’t show up in the box score.

Notice Hagans doesn’t celebrate Maxey’s shot, he waits until he forces the timeout to be called.

An incredible play that deserves to get attention.
