PJ Washington Selected as a Finalist for Karl Malone Award

Kentucky sophomore forward PJ Washington has been selected as a finalist for the Karl Malone Award, which is awarded annually to the best power forward in college basketball.

 

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame chose Washington, along with four other finalists.

 

Named after Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Karl Malone, this years award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show on April 12th.

 



 

Washington is averaging 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks over the last 13 games. In that stretch, he has connected on 53.7 percent of his field goal attempts, including a blistering 47.5 percent from three-point range.

 

This years finalists include Washington, Mike Daum (South Dakota State), Dedric Lawson (Kansas), Grant Williams (Tennessee) and Zion Williamson (Duke).
