PJ Washington has Never Allowed People’s Opinion’s to bother him and this Time will not be Different.

Kentucky freshman forward PJ Washington is still going through the NBA Draft process, and he is taking his time gathering all the information he can.

Washington will participate in next weeks NBA Draft combine in Chicago before making a final decision about his future. After the combine, he will have until May 30th to decide whether or not to return to Kentucky for a sophomore season.

The 6-foot-7 forward is in an interesting situation. If he remains in the draft, he will most likely be selected somewhere in the second round. However, the second round may be perfectly fine with him, especially if it’s early second round like his father, Paul Washington, indicated to the Courier-Journal earlier this week.

Washington definitely leaves if he receives a guarantee that he will be a first round selection. That outcome is doubtful, but Washington isn’t listening to anyone’s opinion.

Since becoming the first player to declare for the NBA Draft in late March, fans, media, and draft analysts have offered their opinions on what Washington should do. Most believe he should return to Kentucky for a sophomore season and show that he belongs in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Well, Washington isn’t allowing anyone’s opinion to bother him.

Good news is we should have a final answer within the next couple of weeks. It’s a tough decision for a 19-year old kid to make.

My guess is Washington’s tweet was directed more at fans who say leaving would be a dumb decision. That said, I’m sure he will listen to what John Calipari has to say, and he will go from there.
