The Kentucky Wildcats moved to 2-0 with a 27-16 win vs. then ranked No. 25 Florida at the Swamp on Saturday night.

Kentucky, behind a deep and experienced offensive line, rushed for 303 yards vs. the Gators defense. Leading the way for the Wildcats was junior running back Benny Snell Jr., who finished with a game high 175 yards on the ground. Additionally, sophomore quarterback Terry Wilson added 105 on ten carries while A.J. Rose chipped in with 23 yards.

Kentucky did something that SEC powers do in the nations best conference; win in the trenches. The Wildcats offensive line has been spectacular through two games this season, paving the way for Snell, Rose, and Wilson.

Kentucky’s offensive line, led by Drake Jackson, Bunchy Stallings, George AsafoAdjei, Logan Stenberg, and E.J. Price, bullied Central Michigan and Florida to the tune of 602 total yards. The Wildcats are ranked eleventh nationally and second in the SEC with 301 rushing yards per game, while a 7.17 average per carry rate ranks ninth in the country.

Through two games, Kentucky hasn’t allowed a quarterback sack, making them one of just three teams in the SEC to achieve that statistic. In addition, the Wildcats have only surrendered five tackles for loss, which is tied for second in the league.

As a result, the Wildcats have rushed to a 2-0 start and for the first time since 1986 have cleared a hurdle that sets the stage for a better than average season.
