Ohio Safety Rickey Hyatt Commits to Kentucky

Kentucky football’s already strong 2020 recruiting class got even stronger on Wednesday night when the Wildcats picked up a commitment from Rickey Hyatt.

Hyatt, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety from Westerville (Ohio), announced his commitment to the Wildcats via a video on social media. He is the 17th player to commit to Kentucky’s 2020 class.

A three-star prospect, Hyatt took an official visit to Kentucky for the season opener vs. Toledo on Saturday, August 31st. According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, he is rated the No. 47 safety in the country and No. 20 overall player in the state of Ohio.

As a junior, Hyatt totaled 94 tackles and three interceptions for Westerville Central, the same high school that produced former Kentucky running back and current Pittsburgh Steeler Benny Snell Jr.

Hyatt chose Kentucky over offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, Penn State and West Virginia, among others.
