Things just keep getting better if you’re a Kentucky fan. It was Duke who lost on a late basket last night at Virginia Tech but what just happened to North Carolina on senior night topped what happened in Blacksburg.
North Carolina trailed for most of the second half but senior guard Joel Berry was determined not to leave the Dean Dome on a losing note. Berry did everything he could, including hitting a three with 4.1 seconds remaining on the clock that tied the game.
Following the three, Miami chose to push the basketball up the floor instead of calling a timeout. Ja’Quan Newton took the inbounds pass, dribbled up the floor, and splashed the game winning basket from two steps inside half-court.
