Nick Richards Explains Why he didn’t Feel Pressure to Leave UK

The Kentucky Wildcats picked up a huge 76-74 road win at  Texas Tech on Saturday.

Junior Nick Richards led the way for Kentucky, totaling 25 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, his eighth double-double in 19 games.

Following the game, Richards was asked about his breakthrough at Kentucky and why he chose to come back for a third season and not feel the pressure to leave Kentucky.

“Just because I go to a school that’s known for one and done doesn’t mean I have to be one and done. It just took me time to develop. Over the past three years I’ve had the best time of my life, meeting incredible people, having the best coaching staff in the word, just training to be the player I am right now and to be the player I can become.”

I love how Richards says he didn’t have to be a one and done because that’s what Kentucky is known for.
