NBA to Propose 22-Team Plan to Restart Season

NBA

There’s good news if you want to watch NBA basketball this summer.

On Thursday, the NBA Board of Governors will reportedly propose a 22-team plan to return to play later this summer.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania of The Athletic, a call will take place at 12:30 p.m. ET. Thursday to propose the plan to restart the NBA season.

The plan is for everything to take place in Orlando, Florida, with the 16 teams in playoff contention, along with New Orleans, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, and San Antonio in the West, as well as Washington from the East. Those teams make up the 22-team restart.

Teams will play eight regular-season games before starting the playoffs.

If the plan is approved, the league will return to action on July 31, with the final game of the NBA Finals set for October 12.
