The Kentucky Wildcats picked up a commitment from Bucknell grad transfer Nate Sestina, who visited Kentucky earlier this week.
Sestina, a 6-foot-9, 245-pound forward, will play his final season of eligibility at Kentucky. Clearly, John Calipari fell in love with the Reid Travis experiment and the Wildcats will have another grown man inside next season.
At Bucknell, Sestina didn’t start until his senior season, but he averaged 15.8 points and 8.7 rebounds in his lone season as a starter. He shot 53.6 percent from the field, including 38 percent from the three-point line. He was named Second Team All-Patriot League after reaching double figures in 27 of his 31 games played.
Sestina made the announcement via his Twitter account.
It’s been an amazing ride from Emporium to Bucknell and everywhere in between, and it’s surreal to think my college basketball career isn’t over yet.
