Nate Oats Apologized for Using the Word “Whining”

Boise, Idaho – Buffalo coach Nate Oats tried his best to backtrack on his comments about Calipari whining about having freshmen during his press conference on Friday but he and his Bulls had already poked the bear.

“I’ll tell you this, I apologized to him before the game”, said Oats. “I used the word “whining,” that’s a bad word choice of him talking about their youth all year.”

Kentucky’s youth accounted for 77 of the teams 95 points on Saturday. The players took Oats’ comments personal, especially Hamidou Diallo, who scored 22-points on 9-of-12 shooting.

“I don’t know why I chose that word. Big Blue Nation certainly let me know about it, don’t want to make them mad, they’re tweeting all day long.”
