Purdue’s Matt Haarms Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

With Nick Richards expected to declare for the NBA Draft this week and the possibility of E.J. Montgomery doing the same, Kentucky is in need of a big man. Even if Montgomery elects to return, Kentucky will still need experience and depth inside.

On Monday, Purdue’s Matt Haarms entered the transfer portal. The 7-foot-3 center averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 52.4 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from three-point range (knocked down 18 three-pointers) last season.

Haarms is considered an elite rim protector. He has totaled 210 blocks in three seasons, the fourth most in Purdue basketball history.

I’d expect John Calipari to be making a phone call.
