LEXINGTON, KY.,

It was a perfect night for football at Kroger Field, as the Wildcats played their annual blue/white spring game. There are plenty of areas that need improvement but overall, Mark Stoops has to be pleased about what he saw.

Redshirt sophomore A.J. Rose was the star of the night for the Wildcats, rushing for a game high 134 yards on 11 carries, including three touchdowns. There has been plenty of buzz surrounding Rose since he arrived at Kentucky two years ago but it has taken time to piece everything together.

As far as the quarterback competition goes, Stoops will hold off until the end of summer before naming a starter. Overall, both did positive things during Friday night’s game and the UK head coach feels comfortable with either one under center this fall.

Sophomore Terry Wilson completed 10-of-14 passes for 131 yards. He did throw one interception but added 14 yards on the ground. He would’ve scored a touchdown on a quarterback draw but due to the spring format, he was ruled down at the three yard line after a defensive player made contact. Sophomore Gunnar Hoak completed 14-of-25 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Stoops took the podium following the game to talk about his teams final performance of the spring.
