Matthew Mitchell’s Kentucky Wildcats picked up a significant road victory at No. 13 Tennessee on Thursday night behind a strong performance from senior guard Maci Morris.

Morris scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Wildcats to victory in Knoxville for the first time since February 16, 2014, and just the fourth time in 27 tries.

The Bell County native got off to a fast start, pouring in 11 points in the first quarter to help Kentucky build a 27-16 advantage. She scored 16 points over the final three quarters, before picking up her fifth foul with less than four minutes to play.

Morris knocked down 10-of-16 shot attempts, including four from three-point range.

With her effort in the win, Morris is now in 10th place on UK’s all-time scoring list with 1,495 career points. She can move into ninth place with eight points vs. Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum.

Kentucky and Ole Miss will tipoff at 1 p.m. ET. Sunday afternoon on the SEC Network.
