The Kentucky women’s basketball team continued to roll on Wednesday, defeating Morehead State 87-57 at Memorial Coliseum.

The Wildcats were led by senior guard Maci Morris, who poured in a season-high 31 points. The Bell County native knocked down 12-of-20 shot attempts, including four three pointers.

Following a strong three game performance in the Virgin Islands last week, coupled with a noon midweek tip-off, a letdown could have been expected from the Wildcats. However, the Cats throttled Morehead State from the opening tip. Morris torched the Eagles to the tune of 25 first half points and her three at the buzzer gave the Wildcats a 52-23 advantage at the half.

Fresh off her MVP performance last week, freshman guard Rhyne Howard recorded her second-career double-double. Howard scored 17 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

Joining Morris and Howard in double figures were Jaida Roper (14) and Taylor Murray (13). Blair Green (8), Amanda Paschal (2), and KeKe McKinney (2) round out the scoring for Kentucky.

The Wildcats improve to 8-0 on the season. They will return to action vs. Rhode Island on Thursday, December 6 at Memorial Coliseum.
