Lynn Bowden will be wearing a different jersey number when the Wildcats take on the Florida Gators Saturday night at Kroger Field.
Bowden is planning to honor Terry Wilson by wearing #3 when he takes the field for the Wildcats first SEC matchup of the season. Wilson tore his patellar tendon in his left knee in the Wildcats win vs. Eastern Michigan and will miss the rest of the 2019 season.
Kentucky football posted a gallery to their Instagram page on Tuesday that showed Bowden wearing the jersey during practice. Bowden’s mother, Melissa Phillips, confirmed in a Facebook post that Bowden will wear Wilson’s jersey during Saturday’s game.
“I’m super proud of you son for honoring your brother by wearing his number #3 Saturday,” Phillips said in her post. “Thank you son for being everything I knew you are.”
Something tells me #3 will be all over the field Saturday night.
