LSU Basketball Player Killed in Shooting Friday Morning

Sad news around the SEC this morning, as LSU forward Wayde Sims was killed in a shooting Friday morning.

 



 

According to Baton Rouge police, Sims was killed in a shooting near the Southern University campus.

 

Reports are the shooting took place around 12:25 a.m. Friday morning at a Subway restaurant. Sims started 10 games for the Tigers last season, averaging 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.

 

LSU head coach Will Wade released the following statement in a press release Friday morning.

 

”We are all devastated. We need your prayers for Wayde, for his family, for all of us. We are heartbroken.”
