Report: UK Offers John Calipari a Lifetime Contract after UCLA Offer

Kentucky has offered John Calipari a lifetime contract, according to Seth Davis of The Athletic.


The offer comes after a report that UCLA offered Calipari a six-year, $48 million deal.


According to Davis, Calipari told UCLA he isn’t interested in leaving Kentucky.


Calipari is the highest paid coach in college basketball with a current salary of $9.2 million, according to USA Today Sports Database.


The offer Davis reports would be a 10-year term as head coach at Kentucky, including a promise to serve as a paid ambassador for Kentucky after his retirement.


Prior to the NCAA Tournament, Calipari tweeted that he has the best job in basketball and that he has  discussed with the possibility of retiring at Kentucky. The report from Davis confirms that
