Kira Lewis is the Latest Guard Calipari is Showing Interest in for 2019

Kentucky is Showing Interest in 2019 Guard Kira Lewis

2019 guard Kira Lewis is the latest player on the Nike EYBL circuit to get the attention of John Calipari.

Lewis, a four-star prospect by 247Sports, averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game for the Georgia Stars during the opening weekend of the Nike EYBL in Dallas. His strong performance led to him being named to the D1 Circuit All-Dallas third team.

According to Corey Evans of Rivals, Lewis is now receiving interest from Kentucky. He currently holds offers from Indiana, Florida State, Pittsburgh, TCU, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, and Tennessee among others.

Lewis is a native of Hazel Green, AL., and the Crimson Tide are considered to be the favorite in his recruitment at this point. 247Sports ranks the 6-foot-3 guard as the 49th best player in the class and 5th best point guard.

The Wildcats already have a commitment from 2019 top point guard Ashton Hagans, who is expected to reclassify and join Kentucky in the fall. Calipari is also in an excellent position with five-star point guard Tyrese Maxey, who has also entertained the idea of a reclassification.

It seems like Calipari is leaving his options open when it comes to point guards, just in case Hagans and Maxey both become members of the 2018 class.

Lewis isn’t expected to make a decision anytime soon. Check out highlights of the newest UK target below.
