Stanford Grad Transfer Reid Travis Still hasn’t Set Date for Visit to Villanova

Stanford graduate transfer Reid Travis will visit Kentucky tomorrow and the Wildcats are in a great position to land the talented forward.

Travis, a 6-foot-8 power forward, was an all PAC-12 first-team selection as a junior at Stanford. He averaged 19.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season. He ranks 16th all time on Stanford’s scoring list and 10th in rebounding.

The Minneapolis native will make an immediate impact at either Kentucky or Villanova, but John Calipari hopes his group of Wildcats will be the choice. With the loss of Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel to the NBA Draft, along with the transfer of Sacha Killeya-Jones, Travis would provide elite depth inside for Kentucky.

While the visit to Kentucky is scheduled for Tuesday, a trip to Villanova is yet to be announced. That ‘s worth mentioning because it’s interesting that a date has not been scheduled. Is Travis planning to commit to Kentucky while on his visit or does he only visit Villanova if he doesn’t like what he sees at Kentucky?

It’s usually ideal to receive the final visit to make the freshest impression, but this situation could be different. If Calipari rolls out the blueprint in front of him, Travis might just unpack his bags in Lexington on his visit.

Calipari did hint at the addition of Travis during his teleconference call with the media on Monday. “If we finish this out and get all these guys in here, probably by next week, we’ll probably do some stuff on the court,” said Calipari.

Reid Travis, PJ Washington, EJ Montgomery, and Nick Richards as a front court would be scary good.
