After an 80-53 victory vs. the Auburn Tigers at Rupp Arena, the Kentucky Wildcats have moved up to a No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament projections.

With Tennessee’s double overtime loss at LSU, Jerry Palm of CBS and ESPN’s Joe Lunardi flipped Kentucky and Tennessee in seeding projections.

Palm had the following to say about Kentucky replacing Tennessee as a No. 1 seed:

“At 23-4, Kentucky has one more loss than the 24-3 Volunteers, but makes up for that with a high number of quality wins and a head-to-head win over Tennessee.”

Lunardi will wait until Monday morning to update his entire bracket, but he did say on ESPN Saturday night that the Wildcats moved up a spot in seeding projections. As for Palm, he projects the Wildcats to land in the Midwest Regional, where they would play the first weekend in Columbus, Ohio and the second weekend in Kansas City, Missouri.
