After a 9-3 regular season campaign, the Kentucky Wildcats are headed to a bowl game on New Years Day.

Kentucky and Penn State will battle for the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, January 1st, a source confirmed with Brett McMurphy.

With Alabama in the College Football Playoff and Georgia, LSU, and Florida in New Years Day Six Bowls, Kentucky was the only three loss SEC team available to pick for the Citrus Bowl. Following the New Years Six selections, the Citrus Bowl had first pick of the remaining SEC teams.

This will be the first meeting between Kentucky and Penn State since the 1999 Outback Bowl, where the Nittany Lions beat the Wildcats 26-14 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The matchup between Kentucky and Penn State will kickoff at 1 p.m. ET. from Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
