Middle School Quarterback Ty Simpson has Family History in the SEC

Kentucky has extended a scholarship offer to Ty Simpson, an eighth grade quarterback from Tennessee.

Simpson plays for Martin Middle School and he’s the son of UT-Martin head football coach Jason Simpson. The offer from Kentucky came on Monday and the Wildcats aren’t the only major Division I program to offer. Earlier this year, Jim Harbaugh extended a Michigan offer to Simpson.

Simpson has plenty of ties to the SEC. His father played at Mississippi State and his grand father played at Ole Miss. He announced the UK offer via his Twitter account. He plans to attend Westview High School in Martin, Tennessee this fall.
