Matthew Mitchell Offers 2022 Star Cassidy Rowe

Cassidy Rowe is a name you should know, if you don’t already at this point in her career.

Rowe attends high school at Shelby Valley, where she took over the starting point guard role as an eighth grader.

A member of the 2022 class, she’s one of the top players in the state and has already picked up offers from Morehead State, Murray State, and Northern Kentucky. On Friday, Matthew Mitchell offered her a scholarship to Kentucky.

Mitchell hopes to keep her in state and she may very well end up staying in Kentucky, even if it’s not wearing Kentucky across her chest. She grew up cheering for Louisville and they have always been her favorite team, but they haven’t extended an offer.

The road hasn’t been easy for Rowe and the next few months will be her biggest challenge to this point. She tore her ACL at the Nike AAU event in Chicago earlier this week. Just two days after suffering the injury, Mitchell showed the confidence he has in her.

“I am beyond excited to announce that I just received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky,” Rowe said on Twitter. “I want to thank the UK coaching staff for believing in me even after my injury.”
