The 2019 NBA draft is now behind us and it was another successful night for Kentucky men’s basketball.
While the men’s basketball program celebrated success, the University of Kentucky has had a solid draft season when it comes to first round selections.
PJ Washington, Tyler Herro, and Keldon Johnson all heard their names called during the first round of the NBA draft. However, they weren’t the first former Wildcats to be first round selections in a draft this year.
Earlier this year, Kentucky football’s Josh Allen and baseball’s Zack Thompson were first round picks in the NFL and MLB drafts. Allen went No. 7 to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Thompson No. 19 to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Overall, Kentucky is the only school this year to have a first round pick in the MLB, NBA, and NFL drafts.
