Kentucky forward Keion Brooks Jr. will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season, his father confirmed to CatsPause.com Monday.

While it was unlikely Brooks would bolt for the NBA after one season, it’s refreshing for Kentucky fans to hear someone is returning. When players transfer and enter the portal on a daily basis this time of year, it’s encouraging to see Brooks is locked in at Kentucky.

Brooks’ father, Keion Brooks Sr., told Go Big Blue Country Sunday that he expects his son to be “a beast” during his sophomore season.

As a freshman, Brooks hit his stride the week of the season. Brooks’ 10 point performance at Florida in the season finale has Big Blue Nation buzzing about a breakout campaign for the forward in 2020-21.

“I think it’s great for the program so the pressure of being a one and done isn’t hanging over guys heads,” Brooks Sr. said. “Families can see how your son can develop and reach their goals. The second season things really slow down for you as a player. You know what the coaches expect and you have the experience to lean on.”
