Whitney and Maxey Climb in Latest 247Sports Rankings; Allen Drops One Spot
Less than a month ago, John Calipari lost his first commitment as head coach at the University of Kentucky. All the UK coach did was respond by adding a player ranked significantly higher and an in-state star.
247 Sports released their new player rankings for the 2019 class and all three UK commits are represented. The highest ranking is Kahlil Whitney, the most recent UK commit, at No. 6 overall. Whitney jumped 8 places from his previous spot at No. 14.
Fellow UK commit Tyrese Maxey also moved up in the rankings, jumping from No. 13 to No. 10 overall. Additionally, Pendleton County star Dontaie Allen dropped one spot to No. 84.
For comparison, former UK commit D.J. Jeffries dropped 26 spots to No. 68.
