Julius Randle Praises John Calipari for Teaching Accountability
When the NBA Draft Combine kicked off on Thursday, it didn’t take long for Kentucky basketball to have their handprints all over it.
The Wildcats have four players participating in the combine. Kevin Knox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Hamidou Diallo all declared for the draft and hired agents. Meanwhile, PJ Washington declared but did so without an agent.

All four were in attendance for the combine on Thursday, but it was former Wildcat Julius Randle that gave Kentucky a nice recruiting pitch on national television.
While Diallo was jumping out of the gym, Randle stopped by the ESPN set to discuss multiple topics, including his time at Kentucky. The former seventh overall pick in the 2014 draft had the following to say.
“I think the biggest thing coming out of Kentucky that Coach (Calipari) teaches is accountability,” said Randle. “For young men going into the NBA, there’s a lot of free time, a lot of stuff to where you have to be accountable for your actions off the court, but on the court as well.”
Those comments might not seem like much, but coming from a successful NBA player, recruits listen to those things.
