Special teams made huge plays for the Wildcats on Saturday, but no play was bigger than the blocked punt that led to the game-winning score. Freshman outside linebacker Josh Paschal made the block that changed the game for Kentucky. One play later, Benny Snell Jr. found the end zone to give the Wildcats a 24-14 lead, as they held on for a 24-20 victory vs. Eastern Michigan.

For his efforts on Saturday, Paschal was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. He is the second Wildcat to take home the honor this season, as Austin MacGinnis was recognized following a week three win vs. South Carolina.

Paschal, a native of Olney, MD., has been a difference maker for the Wildcats. Dubbed “Blitz Baby” by Denzil Ware and Josh Allen, Paschal is relentless at pressuring the quarterback and disrupting the opposing team’s backfield. In addition to the punt block, he added a quarterback hurry and shared a sack with Josh Allen.
